Common Strategies Associated:
A quick list of the most common strategies we come across in this category, along with quick ways you can improve your own iteration of them without the need of testing and optimization.
Support and Resistance
Support and Resistance trading, or the process of identifying key levels in price action where buyers and sellers can't seem to break through, is quite useful when used as a disqualifier for entries and exit point for exits. While it is a rather simple concept when viewing charts, the difficulty lies in obtaining intra-day data for setting support and resistance levels.
SMC
SMC, or smart-money-concepts, is a trading strategy that, similar to support and resistance, uses key levels of price action derived from institutional and psychological interference to find future price movement. And again, much like support and resistance, it is a rather easy concept after some study, however difficult for computers to identify when testing. Most optimization in this category consists of adjusting risk-to-reward, and quantity of the asset purchased.
Order Flow
Order flow trading involves analyzing the trades coming into the market to predict future price movements with the basis of supply and demand. One of the most complicated to test, as it not only involves expensive third-party data, but also quicker fluctuations in data at higher quantities, demanding more out of our computing software and lengthening test times.
